Who runs the network

TaxTools Network is an independent, single-operator project. The five sites are built and maintained by one person, with a background in financial software engineering, who has spent several years building tax, payroll and retirement calculators across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

That is the whole of it. There is no editorial board, no panel of reviewers and no firm behind this. Where you see "we" on the member sites, it means one operator and a lot of tests. Any publisher claiming an expert review process it does not have is telling you something worse about its numbers than the absence of one would, so the arrangement is stated rather than dressed up.

What the operator is not

• Not a registered tax agent, accountant or financial adviser in any of the five countries. No practising certificate is held, no professional body membership is claimed, and no engagement of any kind is created by using a calculator.
• Not able to give advice on your tax position. Everything published is general information about how a published rule works, applied to figures you supply. Where your circumstances need a judgement call, the sites say so and point to the relevant professional body or tax authority instead of guessing.
• Not affiliated with any tax authority. The ATO, IRS, CRA, HMRC and Inland Revenue are sources; none of them endorses, reviews or is connected to these sites.

What the sites are

5 country sites, 1,300+ calculators and tools between them, free to use, with no account, no paywall, no email capture and no upsell to a paid tier — because there is no paid tier. They are:

The sites do not share content or rebadge each other's calculators. Each one implements its own country's rules on its own country's tax calendar, because a tax calculator that tries to generalise across jurisdictions is a tax calculator that is wrong in all of them. What they share is the standard they are built to and the methodology they follow.

How it is funded

By advertising on the member sites. There are no affiliate links, no sponsorships, no paid placements and no payments for coverage of any product. No advertiser sees or influences a calculator, an article or a result. This network site carries no advertising, no analytics and no third-party scripts at all.

The reason to state that in this much detail: on financial sites, the ordinary business model is to route readers toward a product that pays a commission, and that model quietly shapes which answer a calculator gives. It is not the model here, and the absence is something you should be able to check rather than take on faith — nothing on any member site pays anyone for you clicking it.

Your data

Calculations run in your browser. Salary figures, holdings, contributions and everything else you type into a calculator stay on your device: they are not sent to a server, not logged and not sold. Member sites use analytics cookies and, where ads are served, advertising cookies, governed by each site's own privacy and cookie policies. This site sets no cookies and makes no third-party requests.

Accountability

Publishing tax figures for five countries as one person only works if the mistakes get found and fixed quickly. What makes that possible: the calculation logic is separated from the interface and tested — 1,200+ automated test files at the last count — rules are stored per tax year rather than edited in place, and errors reported by readers become tests before they become fixes.
